FocusGuard Privacy Policy
FocusGuard (“the Extension”) helps you block distracting websites during scheduled focus hours. This policy explains what data the Extension handles.
Data we collect
FocusGuard does not collect, sell, or share personal information. There is no account system and no analytics backend operated by us.
Data stored on your device
The Extension uses Chrome’s local storage APIs to keep settings on your device only, such as:
- Whether blocking is enabled
- Which sites you chose to block
- Schedule times and days
- An optional password you set to lock settings changes
This data never leaves your browser unless you sync it yourself through your Google account’s Chrome sync (if enabled). We do not receive a copy.
Permissions
- storage — save your preferences locally
- alarms — apply schedule start/end times
- declarativeNetRequest (and host access) — block requests to sites you selected
- Host permissions — only for the social/entertainment sites listed in the Extension so blocking and the interstitial page can work
Third parties
The Extension does not send data to third-party servers. Blocked sites are not contacted when a rule redirects you to the Extension’s blocked page.
Children
FocusGuard is a productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
